Back-packing trip: Leavitt Meadows to Fremont Lake

Fremont Lake
Last July my dad, sister, and I set out on a back-packing trip to Fremont Lake out of Leavitt Meadows. My husband, Will made a day trip out of it. He hiked in with us past Roosevelt Lake to Lane Lake.  Lane Lake is the perfect distance for a day hike (about 3 miles in).

To get to the trail head from Bridgeport we drove about 17 miles north on highway 395 and then turned left onto 108. In approximately 6 miles on 108 we saw the Leavitt Meadows campground on the left. The trail head is at the campground.

After a few hours of hanging out, catching crawdads, and eating lunch at Lane Lake, dad, Kara, and I continued on to Fremont lake about 5-6 miles further, while Will headed home.

Will enjoyed a crawdad dinner with his dad when he got back home.

One day we did a day hike from Fremont up a little mountain on the other side of the lake. It was a pretty easy climb. We only had to scramble up a few sections. We got to the top, enjoyed the view, and ate our lunch.
