Sierra's proper introduction... a year late.

"Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer."

~Dean Koontz

It has been exactly one year since my last post. I think I need to catch you up on Foxey's adventures... and introduce you to the new addition: Sierra!

This is Sierra. From this photo you would probably guess that she is a tame, docile pup. Do not be deceived!

Will and I adopted this rambunctious canine from the Bridgeport Animal Shelter last October.

One day Will sent me a photo of a new puppy that had been found wandering around the June Lake area. The caption under the photo read: Foxey's twin sister. Now, if Will didn't want another dog, then he shouldn't have sent me that photo. That's logical thinking, right? I immediately responded that I wanted her. Will was reluctant to take on another animal because we already have Stout (a black lab) and Foxey. He told me that I needed to see how Foxey and her twin would get along. I brought Foxey to the shelter and the 2 pups ran laps around the building taking turns chasing each other and tussling.

I may be slightly crazy, but right then and there I adopted the rowdy little pup.

I debated about what to call her. I thought about calling her Pumpkin because of her tawny coat and the current month, October. Will didn't care for the name so we decided on Sierra, after our geographical location and the area that we love.

Sierra keeps Stout and Foxey on their toes. She decides to pounce on them when they least expect it.

Sierra and Foxey go with me on hikes and trail runs. Will braided a leash-splitter out of para-cord because running with two leashes was a bit of a struggle.

These photos accurately capture Sierra's nature...

Sierra loves adventures and fits right in. These photos were taken last weekend up Green Creek Road...

This photo was taken by my friend, April, on our hike this summer out of Twin Lakes.

In conclusion, I definitely have my hands full with these two but I would not have it any other way!
